"sometimes you are meant to be best friends rather than lovers"
Human hair, mesh fabric, and found frame
39.5" x 66"
I assemble collages and sculptures from found objects which speak to my fantastical desire to time travel to transcend moments of regret and longing. My obsession is with the nuances of the everyday and the hidden power that subtle monotonous moments can have on thoughts and decision making. Many found objects are collected and held for over a year, and I find their placement in a new collage or sculpture after much contemplation.
In sometimes you are meant to be best friends rather than lovers, I suspended my friends hair, swathed in mesh fabric, which I had collected from two of his haircuts in ziplock bags when we lived in Queens, and had carried with me to Los Angeles.
